Graveyard Marathon from Corolla to Hatteras
March 12

Currituck Heritage Park

Enjoy early spring in the Outer Banks while you take a light 100 miles jog down the Carolina coast on highway 12 on March 12 (yes, that is not a misprint…it is 100 miles)

Leprechaun Marathon 10k

March 13th
intersection of Bladen Street and Virginia Dare Trail

For those of you who may not be as enthusiastic about a brisk early Spring jog, the Leprechaun 10k is available on March 12 as well. This is still intense but no where near the 100 mile gauntlet Graveyard run.

St Patricks Day Parade

March 13th
intersection of Bladen Street and Virginia Dare Trail

Maybe any amount of running, 100 miles or 10 isn’t that appealing. In that case the St Patrick’s day parade might be perfect.

Taste of the beach chowder cookoff:
March 19th

Coastal Provisions Oyster Bar & Wine Bar Café

Nothing beats a cup of homemade chowder. It is so popular that there is a competition each year just to crown the most delectable of the local restaurants like the Jolly Roger. As one of the oldest and most established Outer Banks restaurants we bring years of seasoning secrets to this event.

So come support us!

Bbq wings showdown:

March 18th

Soundside event site

This is not just a competitive event. Barbecue in North Carolina, especially the Outer Banks, is a big deal. In fact there is a bbq trail going through North Carolina where the NC bbq association lists the best of the best. That ends of course at the Outer Banks. Here we square off in this Taste of the Beach barbecue competition featuring ribs, chicken, shredded pulled pork, and more.

The Jolly Roger is competing. The gauntlet has been thrown, but we are answering back with incredible bbq

Chefs Grand Tasting
March 20th
Port of Call

The Jolly Roger, famous for everything from home cooked breakfasts to Italian specialties is also competing in the Chefs Grand Tasting and Bartenders Bubbly Event Bash (say that 5 times fast). This is the grand finale of Taste of the Beach Events as the most prestigious area chefs will judge the OBX best.

Taste of the Beach

Make sure to check out the Taste of the Beach website. There are scores of exciting and tasty events beyond what is listed here.
